In assessing and addressing the needs of a community, our focus is on the following four Impact Areas.
The protection of children in South Africa is a major issue in many communities.
This includes issues such as child and gender abuse, teenage and school child pregnancies, bullying and under age marriages.
We work to train and strengthen communities, community bodies and families in order to address these issues and build the level of child protection.
Every child and community has a right to access to health.
We address this issue through training in sanitation and hygiene, improvement of access to potable water and health services as well as community advocacy.
The standard of education in many communities of South Africa is resulting in high levels of functional illiteracy. We work with schools and preschools to equip teachers and schools to improve the level of literacy and to better prepare preschool children for their entry into primary schools.
Our seriously high levels of unemployment in South Africa are a major concern and cause of poverty stricken communities and families.
We undertake enterprise development within communities to build entrepreneurship and employment and improve livelihoods.
