Seven people have died and at least another seven are missing in South Africa KwaZulu-Natal, after the southeastern province was hit by heavy rain. Powerful winds and rainfall damaged roads and flooded houses, followed by a tornado that struck the province.

The tornado struck with little warning, catching many residents off guard. The areas most affected were Durban, Inanda and Ulundi where homes, buildings, and infrastructure suffered significant damage.
