In partnership with other stakeholders, World Vision supplied a full school uniform (shoes, shirts, trousers, ties, skirts, jerseys, and socks) to children from flood-affected households in KwaZulu Natal.
The school children who received this donation are temporarily staying at Kwa Dinabakubo Community Hall in KZN as their place of safety.
With the continuing rains in KZN, World Vision recognized a need to offer not only the Toughees shoes, but also a second pair of water-resistant school shoes that would last the students for a long time.
World Vision also took the opportunity to engage with local community leaders to discuss other issues affecting children and the community as a whole.
In this meeting it was noted that a long term commitment by World Vision will bring beneficial results to the communities and the vulnerable children in those communities
World Vision therefore calls upon corporate and individual donors to assist us in delivering lasting impact in the KZN communities
