Global social development and advocacy organisation, World Vision South Africa is greatly saddened by the passing of former President and Father of the Nation, Nelson Mandela. He was a global icon, revered worldwide and will be immortalised through his legacy.
However, it was former President Mandela’s desire to improve the lives of children and the continued realisation thereof - through the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund - which will always lie very close at the heart of World Vision’s own efforts.
“Nelson Mandela’s impact on creating much needed awareness around the plight of children is immeasurable. His love for children was well-known, and as an organisation we will be eternally thankful for his legacy and the impact he made on providing better lives for the children of our world,” says Paula Barnard, National Director of World Vision SA.
