The Tippy Tap Campaign

Regular hand washing and sanitising of hands needs to be encouraged to curb the spread of Covid 19 in communities.

However, we acknowledge that not all families have the means to sanitisers at home. In fact, some communities have minimal access to drinking water, let alone water to wash their hands.

Understanding this challenge, WVSA introduced a concept of Tippy Taps which makes use of locally available materials to ensure project sustainability and effectiveness.

During awareness campaigns, community members in clinics, Taxi Ranks (Sekgosese) and learners were shown how to construct these in their households.

We recommended they construct these at their household’s entrance and nearer to toilets to ensure and encourage regular hand washing and thus limit the spread of COVID 19 in communities.
